"(Cultural) Landscapes - a painterly and photographic exploration"

Gallery at Premium Mobile in Gettorf

October 17, 2025 - January 17, 2026

As part of our concept "painting and photography: a dialogue" we have exhibited several times in the "Real North" under various exhibition titles, most recently at the Levantehaus Hamburg, the Schleswig City Museum, and in Kiel. The core of the concept is the realization of a subject in watercolor or acrylic mixed media on the one hand, and as a photograph on the other.

In our exhibition “(Cultural) landscapes" at the Premium Mobile Kuntz gallery in Gettorf, we explore precisely this topic. Where does humanity intervene in nature, and to what extent? Where do they clearly create habitats for themselves, and how do they use nature for their own purposes? Does a completely untouched landscape still exist, one that touches us with its naturalness?

The painted and photographed works are impressions of Hamburg and the Real North, addressing the theme of highly complex industrial ports as well as our Nordic landscapes, light, trees, and water. Also on display will be works created directly on trips, for example, to Venice, painted on location, photographed there, or recreated or artistically interpreted in our studio, Südereiche.Art.

Many works are created in dialogue, meaning a specific subject is interpreted in a painterly way by Stephanie and in a photographic way by Thomas. During this process, the painter and photographer engage in intensive exchange, learning from and with each other. It's particularly fascinating for the viewer to see how closely related, or even how different, the interpretations can be.

The exhibition includes dialogue pairs and individual works by both artists. It will feature expressive and contrasting watercolors and mixed media works (acrylic and watercolor), as well as art photography shot with camera and drone, including images from Iceland this year that have won awards at major international competitions.
