About this work

November 2024. One sailboat, four women, three men, and a two-man crew: from Tromsø toward the Atlantic, then to see and photograph whales, orcas, and the Northern Lights. That's the plan.

A hurricane-like low pressure system stranded us on the island of Spildra. Spildra does have a small harbor and a café—surprising, considering its population of 18.

But before that, we managed to get to the Sommaroy archipelago, where we were even able to fly the drone. And we were treated to an incredible spectacle of the Northern Lights. We experienced something that probably happens very rarely: red-violet and green light simultaneously.
