When we moved to our adopted home of Hasselberg, we regularly drove along the A7 through the Port of Hamburg – and we often found ourselves stuck in traffic, giving us ample opportunity to study the port. The incredible hustle and bustle, the gigantic size of the ships and containers, the loading cranes.
We were able to take a launch right up to the bow of the Ever Golden, the world's first 400-meter giant, and take this photo. How do you emphasize this gigantic size photographically? Thomas "cropped the bow" and extended the ship beyond the center of the frame... contrary to usual photographic rules, but the effect was achieved.
