About this work
The Schleimünde Lighthouse in a "historical" photo from May 3, 2023. The group of trees on the left was often used by sailors heading south from the Flensburg Fjord as a guide to the Schleimünde lighthouse. However, the storm surge in October 2023 not only severely damaged the entrance, but also destroyed this group of trees.
From our sales of this photograph and the 2024 East Coast Calendar, which featured the image on its cover, we were able to donate a four-figure sum to the lighthouse's owners' association for its restoration.
