About this work
Honorable Mention ND Awards 2025
With a length of approximately eight kilometers and a width of two kilometers, Solheimajökull is an impressive landscape feature. Because it is formed by the enormous Myrdalsjökull glacier Without a clear distinction flowing down to it, it appears even larger than it actually is..
The nearby Eyjafjallajökull volcano erupted in 2010, causing significant damage to European airports. This is also the source of the many black and grey areas in the glacial ice – these are all volcanic sediments.
This photograph consists of 16 individual shots that have been strung together.
