Panoramic version of the award-winning "Bouquet of Flowers, wide"

My RiverTale project began in mid-2024 when I decided to photograph in Iceland. Motivated by the "Tree of Life" series by the multi-award-winning Italian photographer Isabella Tabacchi, I didn't want to "just" photograph waterfalls in Iceland, but above all, structures, and so I spent hours studying online maps... and found this incredible valley. In June 2024, I was able to take the photos – what an experience flying the drone through this valley, so surreal, almost supernatural.

In this valley of the Icelandic highlands, water constantly reshapes the landscape into new forms that symbolize resilience and interconnectedness. Rivulets, streams, and rivers appear to flow over and under each other, intersecting, separating, and merging again, creating wonderful abstract shapes that unleash your imagination.

Iceland – the land of fire and ice – offers this scenario in perfect detail. Such structures can be found on the high plateau, but they don't simply reveal themselves. Finding them is complex and time-consuming. And often even more complex and time-consuming is getting to a location where you can photograph them properly.

All the preliminary work and the enormous effort to find the subject are rewarded with fantastic and imaginative photographs.
